Okay so I feel a little silly asking this question, but it would be SO nice.
Basically, I write a bit. I basically do little one-shots, but all from this same universe and such. I'm not exactly...confident about showing my work to just anybody, however my sister likes what I do, so I write as much for her benefit as for fun.
Currently I've been using a site called DocDroid to upload stuff, give her a link, and she can read them on her iPad when she likes. The only issue is, if the story isn't opened up within about a month, they remove it.
I get it, and while that does sound reasonable, it's a pain to remember everything I've uploaded and reupload it. Sometimes she likes to re-read things, and it's kinda annoying if I'm asleep or whatever and something gets deleted that she wanted...
Anyway! I'm looking for a site that can do the following:
-Upload .doc files, and keep them there until I delete them.
-Having stories be password-protected would be nice, so not just anybody can read them. .///.
-If possible, it would be best if the site worked okay on an iPad, since that's usually how she reads them.
-If this site doesn't have a history of going down all the time, that'd also be great.
Can anybody think of a site where I might be able to do something like this?
I thought of trying Fanfiction.net, but upon entering and looking, I noticed a handful of rules. One being make sure things are age-appropriate, and while I usually do that, that might mean cutting back on dramatic battle scenes or whatever, depending how in-depth they get. xDD AND I don't know if it has password protection, so eh...
I also thought of uploading them on my own site, but my site goes down randomly without warning sometimes...and once or twice it's been down for days at a time, and that's no good.
I ALSO don't want to weigh my sister's iPad down with .doc files, if there's even a way to put them on there. Plus putting them on there would be a hassle. I usually write late at night, and send her a link, and it's that easy. xD
I DON'T KNOW. Does anybody have any ideas? :\ I literally don't know where I can put ANY writing I do.
