- Little back story if you care to read before I dive into my problem. If not, skip to below. My grandfather was determined to trace our family history back as far as he could trace it, and when we moved into his home, he enlisted our help. My mom and grandfather and I traced our history on my father's side as far back as the 1600's. My mom became determined to trace her family history, but that proved nearly impossible because most of the records of her family disappeared during WW2. Recently, her father called and said he found really old photographs that we could use to add to the tree, but they were all damaged. Knowing that I had some experience with programs like Photoshop, she asked if I would take a crack at restoring them.- Now to my problem-I've never tried anything of this sort. Ever. So I attempted to teach myself, and this is what I got so far. The problem I am having (mainly anyway) is the ground beneath their feet. It is all discolored, and there was a deep crack running through it that although I attempted to fix, it still looks..wrong.. And I can't make it look right. Also there is a discoloration on the back fence that needs repairing, and if you look carefully you can still see where the cracks used to run. Anyone have suggestions or tips on how to further repair this photo? Thank you in advance! Information: Program-Adobe Photoshop CS5 Photo taken- Sometime in 1939, in Hungary
