The only thing you need for this contest is a little bit of creativity and artist ability - no hexing required! This is contest to have fun - and if you're lucky - even have your entry in hexed form! Rules / Concept: * Your objective is to create a creature. You can add any details you'd like, and have your creature live in any habitat you'd like. Be creative, and add different traits about the way your character lives, what it does during the day - anything you'd like! * The goal of this is to create a petzy version of the critter you create. The best entries will be created in petz version, and given to the people that created their critter. * Unlimited entries per person, HOWEVER I'd rather you submit one really good entry, or a creature and descriptions of individuals of that "breed" that are similar to each other and go into detail rather than a bunch of simple entries put together quickly. * The idea for your creature must be your own - don't copy detail by detail of a creature/character that has already been made & exists already. * The judging for this will be based off of originality, creativity, effort, and artistic ability put into this. * You do not HAVE to provide a picture, but it is prefered so that your creature can be described in full detail. * There is no pre-made form for this. Set up your thread with as little or as much as you'd like as long as you include all of the required information. All additional/optional details will help, though! * This CAN be a creature you have created in the past / fursonas / etc. Just go wild with it! * BRB's are fine, but please come back! If you'd like a PM reminder a week or so before the ending date, feel free to stick that in your post and I can help you with that if you'd like. ^^ Deadline: Jan 29th I'll judge & hex the winners shortly after this date. Required Information:* What does your pet look like? - Colors - Physical features (does it resemble a dog, have horns, etc) - Texture? (Is your creature slimy? or soft and fuzzy?) * Your Petz Version Providing a picture (you may use breed outlines, scan a real drawing, etc) is preferred! Additional / Optional Information:(You may go beyond this and add more details, though!)* Where does your creature live? What kind of habitat? * How does your creature interact with others? * What kind of background does your creature come from? Perhaps there is a story about the origin of the existance of your creature or the paticular individual you'd like to present? * Is there perhaps a colony of creatures with different individuals? You could describe each individual if you'd like. Prizes!1st Place - * Banner award * Your creature in hexed form * THE BREEDFILE for personal use only - so that you can hex your own creatures from this breed! [Alternatively, if you don't know how to hex, I can help you with a few customs from the file] Hexies you create from this file yourself will be considered a "joint hex" between you and me. You have permission to adopt out petz from this file. (I have done lots of debating over this, but I feel that it's fair, and I'd love to give some one this opportunity!) :] 2nd Place - * Banner Award * 1-3 Hexed customs of a file based off of your creature 3rd Place - * Banner Award * Hexed custom based off of your creature I may hex others' entries if there are a bunch of good ones, and extend this to include more prizes! ;]
GOOD LUCK! I'm very excited to see the results of this contest!! ;D

I call my creature an "Epineio", after my fursona...who this was based off of. xD I use Petz 4.* What does your pet look like? - Colors: Any! But they're generally monochromatic- one could just have dark blue, blue, pale gray-blue,. white, and silver.- Physical features (does it resemble a dog, have horns, etc) It's basically a pony, with an eagle's 'tail' and eagle wings. Almost like a hippogriff, but it's not exactly split in half. More like 3/4 pony and 1/4 eagle.- Texture? (Is your creature slimy? or soft and fuzzy?) An Epineio is slightly fluffy to the touch, but not by much. Generally their hair is short, and gives it a thin [though not transparent] coat. Its feathers are very soft and plush [while still very functional]. * Where does your creature live? What kind of habitat? An Epineio can live anywhere, really, that the average living creature can [e.g., in a rainforest, NOT in space...]. Their fur covering/length/thickness depends on where they live. Epineio that live in deserts, rainforests, or tropical climates have shorter, less dense fur, whereas Epineio that live in mountain ranges, tundras, etc., have thick, dense, slightly longer fur.* How does your creature interact with others? Epineio are generally very kind to others, but are not always particularly outgoing. There are some exceptions, however- every race must have its villains.* What kind of background does your creature come from? Perhaps there is a story about the origin of the existance of your creature or the paticular individual you'd like to present? Epineio were originally a genetic hybrid between a pony and an eagle (using advanced sciences and tools). One was released into the wild to see how it would change the ecosystem, and did not alter it much. The species now has examples all over the world and is a thriving race of competent, intelligent animals. The first Epineio released into the wild was, in fact, the namesake of the species. Epineio means Haven in Greek and was decided on by a small group of the geneticists who 'made' them.Drawing/Visual Reference: This contest is so cool, thanks for hosting it!

I saw this and got super excited! I've got Petz 4* What does your pet look like?- Colors: various, they can be orange, black white brown and tan and a combination of all of those. - Physical features (does it resemble a dog, have horns, etc) Large like a tiger, but a long muzzle and legs like a wolf. Ears are canine, large canine like noses but long feline like whiskers. Long bushy tails for balance when sprinting. non retractable claws on large paws. The canine teeth are long similar to the Smilodon, but much shorter in length. They've got medium horns ontop their skulls for battling over females, and for defense. - Texture? (Is your creature slimy? or soft and fuzzy?) fuzzy and soft * Where does your creature live? What kind of habitat? The Jungle...waay in the back It sleeps anywhere from trees to caves and everywhere in between. It uses the caverns as a den when breeding to protect it's young, however as an adult it has no predators. It is a proficient hunter. * How does your creature interact with others? It gets along with others of it's own kind as it lives in packs. It also gets along with most carnivores of it's girth such as Lions, Tigers, Wolves and Panthers/Leopards. It's never interacted with humans and thus has no fear of them, just mild curiosity. * What kind of background does your creature come from? Perhaps there is a story about the origin of the existence of your creature or the particular individual you'd like to present? It is a cross between a wolf and a tiger/lion/panther. Physically large and powerful like the tiger but very graceful and light of foot. It has roamed the earth since the Jurassic age, evolving only when necessary, staying hidden and unknown to humans and thusly preserving it's heritage. It came roamed with and around the Smilodons, they are genetically linked, but have been mutated and dont fall into either the canine or the feline species. * Is there perhaps a colony of creatures with different individuals? You could describe each individual if you'd like. They live in packs like wolves but mate for life like tigers. Their lines are essentially pure. They hunt together like lions do, creating an ambush and work as a well oiled machine. They share the food equally amongst one another although occasionally fights break out over scraps. Their coats vary from stripes and spots/patches in various colors. They are all unique in their own way. Coats are mostly earthy tones like browns tans, creams and blacks, but occasionally they have white coats or accents. I'll attempt to draw this for a better visual I apologize for the horrid quality I drew it with pencil then scanned it and murdered it in paint lol this is just one style of coat pattern I was visualizing

This is a Chol. Sorry it's on lined paper but it's the only good drawing I had and I've been WAY too busy to draw another. - Colors: the front half can be any type of big cat in their natural colors while the back end is typically the corrsponding colors on as horse. The wings and scales also complement the big cat's colors. Tigers, especially white ones, are extreamly rare among this species because they are the largest of the cats and the most powerful. White tiger fronted Chols are also said to posses psychic powers, but this has not been confirmed. - Physical features (does it resemble a dog, have horns, etc) It has a forked tongue and eye ridges as well as scales to protect it's underbelly. It also has owl's wing to allow it to fly. Horns have been seen but are particuarly rare. The claws don't retract and protrude much like talons do. - Texture? (Is your creature slimy? or soft and fuzzy?) Fuzzy on on the horse and cat areas and scaley on the serpent parts. Where does your creature live? What kind of habitat? this creature can essentially live anywhere. But currently there are no wild Chol's left in the kingdom of Buthrinze. They are the battle mounts of a mysterious part of their military call The Flight. No one has ever truely seen a Chol except the people chosen to be in The Flight because they are the countries first line of defense against intruders. * How does your creature interact with others? With one another they are wonderful. They have a range of sounds to communicate with one another from the soft hoot of an owl to the battle cry of a big cat. for some reason horses and and the serpents cries arn't included in their elaborate language. They are very social creatureas among their own species but they abhor humans. Only the strongest humans can ride them and even they they are taken from their mothers at birth to be raised by their human riders. This means thet the Chols are still fairly vicious, but they do listen and have a sort of strange affection for their riders. They'll still bite, claw or kick their rider's if given the chance though. * What kind of background does your creature come from? A sorcerer was particuarly bored one day and he decided to create a creature of great power to serve him and only him. He didn't realize the dangerous combination of preditors he had pieced together. The wings and wizdom of an owl, the cunning and silence of a serpant, the speed and grace of a horse, and the raw untamed power of a big cat. But ther sorcerer was so pleased with his first result, he created a partner for his creation. Soon the creatures turned on him and killed him on the spot. He had created a creature that could think and feel as intelligently as any human. The pair escaped into the wild and began to raise their young. Once the king heard about these creatures he gave call to his best knights to capture and tame the beasts and kill all of the ones would wouldn't comply; to erase them from histroy except for in his own army. * Is there perhaps a colony of creatures with different individuals? You could describe each individual if you'd like.So far there are only two I have found out about while I was sneaking around in the archives. One is an elderly def Chol with a lion at the front a warm chestnut at the back, rusty red wings and creamy and red scales. The other was a white tiger called Kirion. He had tuquise eyes and a pure white horse half, snoy wings and white scales. He was said to have saved the kingdom in some way but most of the other record about him were burned. The Chol at the top is Kirion. * Your Petz Version p4 Thank you for opening this up to us! I think this is really cool to see what everyone's imagination can come up with.

I'm going to extend this because as of now, everyone is a winner and I'd just really love for this to be open for more entries & stuff.
I don't know if anyone considering entering would like a different type of form or format to work with - I wasn't sure how you guys would like to lay it out, and the large chuck of information is kinda huge, so if anyone wanted more a of a "form" to work with, just let me know.
As of now, the deadline for this is Jan 29th now because I'm pretty busy IRL and want to allow more time for anyone still interested in entering. :]

haha, alright. I need to get a few things done at home/with work and sort some of my petz files out onto my new laptop anyways, so I'm going to give this until June 10th. I'll choose winners then, and hopefully have them hexed that day as well.

* What does your pet look like?- Colors: Thingbongs can be any shade of brown or white. The white ones always have blue eyes and pink noses, whereas the brown ones can have any color. - Physical features: Thingbongs are basically kangaroos with cat heads. They are marsupials, so they raise their young inside their pouch. - Texture? They have slightly curly fur, and it is very coarse. * Your Petz VersionPetz 5 * Where does your creature live? What kind of habitat?Thingbongs prefer to live in grasslands, particularly lush ones with lots of tall grass to eat and a few trees for shade. They can usually be found near a watering hole. * How does your creature interact with others?Thingbongs are very friendly creatures, and are extremely playful. During the beginning of mating season they will spar and become a little obnoxious, but they have not been known to cause serious harm to anyone or anything. They are very social and enjoy being around others of their species, and since they are part cat they are usually friendly to people as well. * What kind of background does your creature come from? Perhaps there is a story about the origin of the existance of your creature or the particular individual you'd like to present? No one really knows where thingbongs originally came from. There are numerous legends that supposedly tell of their beginning, but the most widely accepted is this: Long ago a kangaroo, named Bongo, fell in love with a pretty female cat, who was called Lucia. She was a beauty, pure white with blue eyes and a silky, luscious coat. She was owned by the richest couple in the land, and led a very pampered life. Well, you can imagine that she didn't think much of Bongo, who was big and clumsy. No, she would much rather have a graceful tom who would compliment her beauty, not detract from it. Bongo, feeling very discouraged, went off on his own. That night, Lucia was visited in her dreams by a fairy. "You have broken the heart of the one who truly loves you," she scolded. "As punishment for your actions, you shall be turned into a kangaroo, and be given the name Thingla. But you will keep your cat's head, as a reminder of your vainness. Your offspring will also bear this curse for all eternity." The next morning, Lucia (now named Thingla) awoke to find herself transformed into a kangaroo - but her head was still that of a cat's. Bongo visited her, as he usually did every morning. When he saw that Thingla had changed into a beautiful white kangaroo, he was very glad, as he knew now that he was no longer inferior to her. Thingla was rather distraught at first, but she eventually came around. From then on, Thingla and Bongo's descendants were kangaroos with cat heads. Over time, people named this new species Thingbong, which is both of their names combined. * Is there perhaps a colony of creatures with different individuals? You could describe each individual if you'd like.Yes. Thingbongs are very common creatures, and are usually found in colonies of 5 or 6 individuals. They mate for life, an interesting characteristic not inherited from cat or kangaroo. Picture:
