Sorry if the question is worded poorly, I honestly couldnt think of a better way to word it in just one line, so here is a fuller explanation....
I am working on a Great Dane breeding project to get pure Danes that are not inbred. I am curious what is the "ideal" generation to get to. Obviously I know the higher the better, but with purebreds, is there a point where it just doesnt matter anymore because there are only so many possibilities?
Also I was wondering if anyone knew about how long it would take to get pink eyes?
Im only at 5th generation now and know I have a lot more work ahead of me, but I was just curious on everyone's opinion.

6+ generation is what I prefer, but I do love 8+ gens. Eye mutations are random, so chance is really all that determines if you get them. You can get pink-eyed 2nd generations, even!
However, I personally don't love pink eyes because in my experience/from what I've heard, they tend to overpower your lines if you aren't careful. Light green is my favorite eye color <3

Yeah, pink eyes are pretty hard to get rid of once you get them and they rarely look good, imo.
I agree about 6-8 generations is nice, especially noninbred.

Pink eyes look gorgeous on greys and creams <3 But as everyone said, be careful when breeding them xD
I prefer 6+ gens C:

I'm not too fussed if its a low gen and as long I like the pet. If I was using it for breeding though I would prefer higher gen but sometimes too high puts me off.
