I've been slacking crazy on The Wild Side. If you missed this thread, it's a sub-forum located on The Petz Association. I made it so those with wildz can enter their petz in contests/shows just like catz/dogz. I'm really looking for ideas. Anything you'd like to see implemented on this forum, please suggest to me! I've yet to figure out a 'pose' that all wildz can do...but I did get the rules up for everything else. I'm just at a loss right now. :c What would you like to see? What would you change? Anything, absolutely anything is appreciated. Thank you. <3

I would say Cat poses, Dane and Dali poses would be the easiest for people but I understand if not all wildz can do that. But as long as they are looking at the camera or doing a Dane head pose it would be good.
But hey I don't show pose so I have no idea what I'm talking about xD

I don't do much with wildz but wouldn't it make a difference if a wildz was hexed from a catz breed versus from a dogz breed as to what their pose should be?

Yeah, which is why I need to figure out a 'stance' that all breeds could do.

^ Well, when Clover and I were going to make the Wildz forum, we had worked out a way to show Wildz.
We did Catz based and Dogz based shows. So a Tiger and a Dingo could be in the same show, if they were Dogz based. I don't think there's a universal pose that you could work off of. Personally, I think working off of the base of the hex would be the best option.
We were also working out an issue for hexes that only had two legs/used two legs to walk. There may be some hexes that would have be excluded.

I know it might be ~frowned~ upon, but I'm just throwing an idea. Honestly, would anybody think having a pet standing, looking straight ahead would be a bad idea for a pose? I really hate the feeling of excluding hexes. :c I mean, the eyes would need to look interested/focused, not sleepy, unless the hex doesn't have eyelids, the petz would have to be decently aligned..and so on. Yes, no? Can everyone get their hexed wildz in a pose like this? I got 2 of my wildz in the ideal 'pose'. It's actually hard work! [Okay, well Pebbles beak is a bit off. I snapped the photo a bit late.] Updates: Haha, alright so Bean is a stubborn llama and when I get him to tilt his head up he decides he needs to go ~all out~ and move his legs into showing position. Siamese personality, not easy to work with. Bao Bao's jaw looks a bit weird, but man it's a start from the beginning. Pebbles has a nice pose now, and I think Barley's was spot on when I took them.

Personally, I don't considering that kind of posing an actual pose. That might just be me, but I find it unfair to the people who work hard to actually pose a pet as opposed to standing them and trying to get them to look forward. It just really bugs me to see that considered posing and I know I'm probably the only one but in all honesty, if it means excluding certain hexes for the sake of allowing most of them, I don't see a problem.

They use this pose with horses at SS. It's all in the alignment and how close to perfect it can get. Is pretty difficult to get it absolutely perfect. I like that for wilds, since they really are not dogs or cats and the whole point is to have them be different from dogz and cats shows. In the end, I like the idea of annew system because it makes it fair to all, not just the wilds that look good in pose. Though special shows could be hold for breeds that do throw a good Dali or dane:)

^ I know they use it at SS. I was never good at "posing" like that and so I've pretty much boycotted the shows there that aren't show jumping/dressage/those types of shows. Judging those kinds of poses are hard and therefore an extremely precise system was developed where it becomes extremely frustrating to align your petz and get their heads in the exact position.

Which I think is what makes it fun and different:) it's not up to me in the end anyway, but I totally se how valid it is because there aren't that many wilds and it would be hard to exclude some right off the get go:) Mkay, maybe you could do a trial run for both kinds of "posing" and see which one is more popular? That's really what will tell you what will spark interest:)

^ That trial run sounds good to me, personally.
Also, I like that way of posing. It's frustrating for me to get the right alignment regardless, and I can't really relate to what you're saying, Artemis, having never shown a pet in that way. I'm open to trying it though, and I believe that the whole point of the wildz showing (sub)forum was that no wildz would be excluded on the grounds of not being able to pose "right." A lot of files can't pose properly, but I think Mkay really wants to include everyone. (:

Thanks for all the input - I really appreciate it. Copied and pasted this from the Guidelines over on TPA. Show Guidelines 'Pose' ShowsPose shows are currently being 'beta' tested. Since most hexed wildz are not meant to pose, the showing standard is different here. Pose shows require 2 photos per pet. The first pose, a __ pose, is the pet showcasing itself off in a regal manner whilst following these guidelines. - Legs should be aligned as much as the breed can do so.
- Head should be held high with the eyes focused.
- Head alignment should look similar to that of a dog in a dane pose as much as possible.
- All petz should be facing right.
ExamplesThe second pose requires a bit of creativity and background knowledge of your pet! For this pose, petz are asked to pose like they would if they were taking a picture for the National Geographic Magazine - completely natural! Petz will be judged on how well they show off their natural instincts. For example, a lion might enter with a picture of him stalking his prey or showing off his pearly whites. Dinosaurs might enter a photo of them grazing for food. For the time being, we ask for white backgrounds, no props, and no clothes. ExamplesNone currently! AwardsFor winning a pose show, you are awarded points nearly identical to the points you would earn in a basic cat/dog pose show. [/b] [li] Best in Show (BIS) - 5 points [/li][li] First Place - 4 points [/li][li] Second Place - 3 points [/li][li] Third Place - 2 points [/li][li] Honorable Mention (HM) - 1 point [/li][/ul] Like catz and dogz, our wild friends are allowed to boast titles as well. [/b] [li] 5 points - Reserved Champion (Rc.) [/li][li] 20 points - Champion (Ch.) [/li][li] 35 points - Grand Champion (GCh.) [/li][li] 50 points - Master Grand Champion (MGCh.) [/li][li] 75 points - Supreme Grand Champion (SGCh.) [/li][li] 100 points - World Champion (WCh.) [/li][li] 300 points - Legendary Champion (LCh.) [/li][li] 500 points - Legend (Legend/L.) [/li][/ul] * Names for said titles are subject to change. To keep the interest strong in showing, show hosts may add other awards in addition to the point system. These may include toyz, playscenes, wildz, and graphics. *Subject to change at any time.

^ Thank you. I think it adds something to the whole 'wild' theme! c: I understand where you're coming from, Artemis. I guess the difference between my guidelines and SS guidelines is that I'm more lenient. I don't expect anyone to get the head in the exact position or anything, I just require some effort. This isn't going to be super serious, just something fun that people can enjoy. Like Rina said, I want to include everyone. Now that I've got the posing pretty much done, I've just got to bribe people to come join.
