So Luli wants an opinion on whether you prefer auto auctions or direct auctions when bidding on a pet auction website.
Automatic auction: you set a maximum price, but it only adds some money to the current bid. As more people bid, the price goes up and once they go past the limit, then you're outbidden (e.g.: the auction is at 100, my limit is 200, but shows up at 105 at first until people start bidding).
Direct auction: you set a price and it's the one that shows from the very beginning, you're overbidden by the first person that places a higher bid (e.g.: the auction is at 100 and I bid 200, the auction is now at 200 and the next person that bids will overbid me right away).

Is there going to be another pet auctions site?! Automatic sounds better to me, so I'd choose that :3

Automatic. Gives you a chance to win if you're away from the computer.

I'm going to be awkward and say both. On eBay I much prefer putting in the bids directly myself because automatic bids have a really big chance of being out bid meaning you still really need to put a manual bid right at the end to try and win it. Automatic bids tend to push the auction price higher as well because of this. That said if you are going to be away from the computer it's nice to be able to do an automatic bid on the off chance that no one else bids higher.

Sounds like automatic would be nice seeing as I usually forget the bidding deadline and get outbid usually. ^^;

Automatic bidding is nice, but it would be good to have a limit to how much over the price you can bid extra. If the starting price is 10PC, then the maximum could be 50PC or something over the price. I remember getting so angry that I was being outbidden automatically and the price of a bred pet went from like, 5-7PC to 30-35PC. I had to stop because it was just getting to be outrageous and completely unfair, to me.
I'd probably say both. Like you can enable automatic bidding if you have to go somewhere but otherwise direct. Although I can see how that would be abused easily, so I guess it depends on what most people want.

Thanks for the input so far, everyone! A new Petz Auctions site might be popping up in the future, yes. How does everyone feel about something like that to prevent 'sniping'?

Sorry for spam, but although I've heard of it, I don't really understand how a pet auction is run. ^^;; Would you terribly mind explaining?

I don't like the Neopets Idea. It should say how much time is left! :]

Maybe if you haven't bid yet, it won't say the time remaining but if you've placed a bid earlier, it'll say the exact time?

Sorry for spam, but although I've heard of it, I don't really understand how a pet auction is run. ^^;; Would you terribly mind explaining? There was a website some time ago that closed down. It was called PA, or Petz Auctions, and you could upload petz that people bid on with PC, or credits. With the credits you received for auctioning of your petz you could use to buy petz other people had put up. It was nice but the server got hacked and it died. Luli wants to start one up. :] Maybe if you haven't bid yet, it won't say the time remaining but if you've placed a bid earlier, it'll say the exact time? I feel like this could still be abused, though. Couldn't someone just bid earlier in the auction just to see the exact time so they could bid again when there is only a short time left? C: I don't like the Neopets Idea. It should say how much time is left! :] Why don't you like it?
