PKC is judged on conformation like real shows. There is a breed standard for each breed that lists all the excepted files and colors. Petz are judged by how closely they match the standard. They still pose, but it doesn't count nearly as much as the dog's appearance. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I never really got into PKC showing. your hopes and dreams of being the best Petz owner ever This part reminds me of Pokemon! [singing]I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was. To catch them is my real test, to train them is my cause...[/singing] lol! IRONY because I totally found my pocket Pikachu yesterday, haha. And you're right about PKC. I've seen dogs with HORRID poses place BOB or go to group, and it rather irks me, since I'm so used to pose showing. x.x But idk. It might also depend on the judge, since I knew a few that were previously pose show judges on other forums and were promoted to conformation judges. I think pose matters more in Companion, but it's still not HUGE, since there's no real standard for P-Reg dogs.

PKC (I hope I'm getting this right) is judged on the files and how well they pose. They judge it on the limits of the files and how great they are for it. Like for instance if a OB dali is in a great pose and a more updated file has unaligned legs and other problems then the OB dali should win.

^^yes *cough* Uh well. What? Most of the little kiddies that find their way into the PC go to AAP or they try and get into a proboards and get banned for being underage. Anyway, you're amusing. I like how you have made two posts when you feel so strongly about the subject

I'm confuzzled...
This is just a game, a bit of fun and not to be taken too seriously, by anyone. If someone wants to show their Petz on here or just learn how to by the experienced Petz players and showers, then nothing should stop them asking them, or bother them when they are picked up on something, which is usually in a friendly manner.
Having said that, we all have our own lives in the real world, away from the net and away from Petz. We cannot be in a good mood 100% of the time, even the most easy-going members. If a member is feeling a bit down at a particular moment they're online, words can come across as being a little rude, though it may not be the case and its certainly not personal.
When speaking in written words on a forum, its very hard to express yourself. It helps having the smilies, as you can imagine how a person is trying to come across by what smiley they use. When talking to someone face-to-face or on the phone, its easy to understand them because you can hear the tone of their voice, see their facial expressions and body language. But hearing the tone of someone's voice and seeing their body language is impossible through a forum, so those who feel someone is just being rude to them need to take a step back and keep reading over what someone has said to them. If in doubt, contact them kindly through a PM, don't take it out on the forum as that will cause you to be in a rut with the whole forum. I can imagine that has happened to all of us at some point!
However, I have read through some past posts, not only in the show threads and have found people being judgemental or snappy or rude. I won't name names because well, that would be rude of me and it was so long ago that I've forgotten. It would have been nicer to see those in "the know" advising a little bit more politely and not so abruptly to those who don't understand the ins and outs of posing their Petz, how things work in-game and also those who are new or just learning something for the first time.
I know nothing about posing properly, although I've played Petz a few years now, its never interested me so I've never learnt how. I know, if I ever took it up, I could ask a member who is an older player of the game and an experienced shower, to help me out if I needed. I'm sure none of them would mind being asked, because posting something like this is irrelevant, when there are very good threads on HOW to pose, and also like I said, a lot of experienced posers/showers could help you out if you ask them.
Be this for real or just someone trying to cause problems, what I've said kinda goes for everyone to be honest. The under-lining problem seems to be a lack of communication between experienced members and inexperienced posers/showers and "fuzzyearz" is getting their knickers in a twist about it all.

Fizgog, I'd just like to say... I'm of the opinion that people who are new to showing should take a good look at the other entries, and read a few guides before they even bother entering shows. When you see three entries of catz with perfect poses and then some n00b butting in with a posing facing left, or the tail completely backwards, I just think... does that look like any of the other entries to you?! But we're definitely not horrible about it. We might be a bit short tempered, but most judges get this nearly every time they open a show, and it gets a bit annoying have to say it again, and again, and again.

When I see a newbie that might need some help, I message them (if they haven't posted already and have been here a while) and I suggest a couple of threads (depending on whether its dogz or catz) to read and compare their poses to. Then I suggest posting on the posing help board.
When I reply to a thread to comment, I try to be polite. Like, "The alignment could be better, but the tail/ears/face/etc look fantastic!" but I don't try to lie. Like, if there's nothing really good (which is rare) then I try to give helpful suggestions instead.

The praise the lord at the end just made me imagine some troll spewing rainbows of petzy love onto all the horrified little children. :/ Am I twisted, or just insane? ^ omg, i legit, laughed out-loud when i read this xD oh, and i believe your just twisted x3 in soviet russia, bears eat your children ^ Geez, this thread is amazing. I love this.. haha! I love the fact that this thread was most likely written by the angry 9-year-olds mother but wait.. what is a 9 year old doing on the forum anyway? hmm... -- look, i'm sorry that you didn't place in a show, but we can't win them all, can we? Practice on your posing some more, then try entering in some more shows... Good luck.
