I haven't been to Hollister and Abercrombie in quite a bit actually, I saw their prices going up and sort of stopped wearing their clothing. But if their jean prices have gone down, I'll have to check it out.

Yeah people say that Abercrombie and Hollister have expensive jeans but I find them loads cheaper than the ones say at Pacsun... So I dunno what everyone's complaining about.
And flares right now I think are $40 at Hollister? Err I guess their prices have gone up but if you go at the right time they do have sales on their jeans, believe it or not (One day I bought 4 pairs, each at $29.99 so it's really not that bad). I don't buy jeans at A&F though, their jeans for some reason are stiffer... I don't like that.

Personally, skinny jeans are a notch under "mom jeans", in my humble opinion. However, there are a few people that can pull them off... but I eat, and I have thighs, and these strange things above my legs called "hips"... O.o Therefore, blech. Same for me. I'm not big, but I do have a more ~curvy~ figure. They look horrid on me, since I carry most of my weight in my lower half. & I have to ask, why the hell would anyone spend that much on jeans? Anything over 20 bucks seems stupid to me. They're just a piece of clothing! D: Go to Ross, or TJ Maxx, or Kohls. Things are cheap there, & actually cute. I don't get why people spend so much on clothes, when you can get something just as cute for less than 20 dollars somewhere else.

I've never spent over $40 on jeans. I do wear skinny jeans quite a bit, but not expenisve ones. You can find really decent priced clothes at Rue 21, I'm not a big mall person but when I need new clothes I usually end up going there. I do believe though only certain people should wear the skinny jeans, nothing against other people, that's just my opinion.
Lastly, I would NEVER step in an Abercrombie/Hollister store. I've seen those prices, that and some of the male models scare me away. XD No real man looks like they do, and then they just smile at you like a creepy uncle.

I walked by once and there was a guy standing inside that was shirtless, hah o_________o;;

lol me too xD I think the most I've spent on jeans was 30 bucks, but it was buy one get one free at Kohls, so I was like HECK YEAH.
Thus is the life of a college student, haha. Though surprisingly, it seems less people wear skinny jeans at my university; the Chicago winters be too cold and snowy for just creatures, ahahaha.

):
Welllll I hate to be the odd one out but I find that paying $40 for a good pair of jeans from a company I trust that will fit me and last me for 2+ years is a better deal than buying a pair for $20 that will wear down and tear at the crotch in 3 months.
And errr there's a Bloomingdales, Gucci and Betsey Johnson within driving distance from my house, but no Walmart, no Kohls. Everything's expensive and designer around here....

If you can pull them off, then sure why not. Some people actually can pull them off. My bf has to wear "slim fit/skinny" because he actually is just really skinny lol. His legs are twigs XD. But he's cute.
Edit: Kari I pay $40 for Hollister jeans because they fit me the best and I like how they look and I'm a fan of boot cut and they have a lot of those.
I also get jeans from aeropostale because you can get like $10 jeans from there that are actually nice-looking too.
But I'll buy shirts from anywhere. Kohls is nice for cheap T's

My $15 jeans have lasted me *counts* 3ish years and they still look good and fit perfect (well, minus the 9 months I was pregnant and the 1-2 months after it took me to get back to my regular size). But everyone is different. I'm very, very, very rough on my jeans so I would never pay more than $20 because, if I ruin them, it's not a huge loss.

-nod nod- Ditto to what DD said... All of my SO, Mudd and what not brand jeans from Kohls have lasted for years for me. I am hard on them too... :x Even my jeans that I lovingly call "5$ pants" have lasted me a few years. (yay for the 70% off rack at Kohls!!)
There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good and feel good in your clothes.. it's just not important to me that my jeans be perfect I guess XD.

Yeh I mean if there were quality jeans for a cheap price around here obviously I'd buy them but only if I was sure that they were of sound quality and fit me, something that's so hard for me to find. I'm in California, and what more the city area, they just don't make jeans for people who are to work in rugged areas or go hunting unless you live in maybe Napa (where my family actually is, but is 1.5 hours away, I'm not driving that long just for a pair of jeans, and besides, they're worker jeans/overalls, not ones I'd like to wear out lol) or out in the countryside anywhere. There's a lot of Pacsun/Target/H&M/etc. with the bad quality cheap jeans (sometimes sold for wayy too much >___>), and they never fit... Of course if it did fit and was good quality and I really loved them, I wouldn't care about the price, I'd buy it for $20 or $200.
What I don't like is super tight jeans, though... Trashy, in my opinion. No matter how cheap and nice they were, i'd never buy them if it made my rear protrude and show off my underwear line.
