I downloaded hex workshop 4.2 a while back, but now whenever i start the program, it says it's expired and I have to unlock it. Does anyone know what the code is? Or is there another program I can use?

That's because it's a shareware program ("try before you buy") -- they usually expire after 30 days unless we buy them. Sleepycat uses a free program called Hexplorer. You can download it here: artemis.wszib.edu.pl/~mdudek/

This is the one I use. It's a great tool because it is rather simple to use, and it has a nice feature that enables you to right click on a file and hex it... Also if you have a wheel on your mouse, you can scroll up and down. Also it is freeware. www.hhdsoftware.com/hexeditor.htmlA screen shot they provide:
