I was wondering if anyone (well, Carolyn? ) knew how to fix the "sleepy syndrome", either in breed files and/or pet files. That would be wonderful if this could be done. For instance, all Desert Lynx are afflicted with the sleepy syndrome, and Persians have a high tendency too...

Ratqueen, after I read at VLF that Carolyn had found the flea byte it popped into my head that the next byte to find would be the sleepy byte, then I get here and saw the subject of this thread and almost fell off my chair laughing hmmm I would think the sleepy byte would be in the same general area of the pet file as the flea byte... If my brain decides to wake up today then maybe I'll compare some pet files, a couple of my mutant calicos have the sleepy syndrome...

I'm pathetic. I don't normally keep my dogs long enough to see, is the sleeping thing happening to the same pet every time, or does the pet become more wakeful after you put it away?
I do notice a few of my petz will spontainiously fall asleep even if their energy is 100.
Those I tend to return. Sometimes, they seem to be more perky if I put them away and bring them out again.

Is the sleepy syndrome breed-specific?

Oh, this one I've not come across. All Desert Lynxes have it? Then it must be a bug similar to the Alley Infection and Sleepycat is probably right that the necessary byte will probably be somewhere within that area. I'd have to have two or three pets which definitely have the syndrome in order to study it and see if I can find it, if Sleepycat doesn't manage to...
Does it pass on through generations?
The breedfile thing could probably be fixed in the same way as I fixed the Alley breed, but it would be good to be able to fix individual pets too, especially if the syndrome passes on through generations.
Cheerio for now; happy Easter!

Yes, all Desert Lynxes have it. I think Persians (and maybe Chinchilla Persians?) may have it too, but not necessarily all of them. Can't remember.
And, yes, it does pass on to future generations, which is really annoying :\ When a pet is afflicted, they will fall asleep a few seconds after we pick them up, every time.

Is the sleepy syndrome breed-specific? Certain breeds have the Sleepy Syndrome, the p5 Desert Lynxs and p3/4/5 Chinchilla Persians(I have no idea about dog breeds) BUT any pet could end up with it. A few of my purebred Calicos were born with it and I've had others born with it, including mixies. If a pet has it then it can pass it on to its children. --- I never even got a chance to look at any pet files yesterday

Okies, thanks for the info; I'll adopt some Desert Lynxes and see if I can figure anything out, but don't let that stop you trying too, Sleepycat -- two brains working on a problem are often better than one Cheers Carolyn ( who is still strutting around, pleased as punch at finding that obscure Flea Byte )
