I often sleep on my stomach, clutching part of my covers or pillow to use as my pillow. I know the best position, according to pretty much any chiropractor, to sleep is your back but I just can't fall asleep on it. I get so sleepy, but I've never adapted much to sleeping and if I could, I'd avoid so many of my back problems, heh.

Oh my gosh, me too. xD
I sleep on my stomach and I can't fall asleep any other way, except sometimes on my side in fetal position. One thing about me is I always need a blanket on me (I used to be the exact opposite, always kicking it off), but I can never, ever, ever have both my feet under the blanket. Well, unless I'm FREEZING, and I mean freezing. I don't know why, I always need one leg out of the blanket. I purposely do that, whether I'm content with my temperature or not. And I always need the blanket on me, it's probably because of my self-conscious nature, haha.
And I almost never sleep with a pillow seeing as I sleep on my stomach and it props my head up too much.
Wow...I just ranted about how I sleep...take me away. D=

In a fetal position, I often get poked at camp or when my friends come over to spend the night because of the way I sleep. xD

*hugs Spike, my stuffed animal cheetah* I can't sleep without him. Like if I was at camp or something I can never get to sleep, because of that. Weird, I know. xD Always have to have a foot at of the bed, so if I get too hot. Oh ya, air conditioning with my feet.

I'm kind of a jerk when it comes to the comfort of the rest of the house, but I like to turn the air conditioner and sleep under a pile of all my blankets from time to time. My comforter is super, super warm (it's filled with some kind of down or other).

I'll usually lay down on my back for about an hour before flipping over to a side fetal possition to fall asleep.
Oh and I NEED a blanket on me when I sleep or when I lay down. Like Chaos said, it has something to do with a persons self-conscious nature. Plus, something else that didn't help with my case, was back when I was like 5. I used to have nightmares everynight that someone was going to come into my room and kill me while I slept, so I made sure to have every inch of my body (including my head) was underneath the blankets before I fell asleep. I felt like the blankets could protect me, and that no one could get to me while I was hiding under them. I also had this little thing running thru my head that said "If you can't see them, they can't see you." XD A little security issue I had, lol. It's not really a cute thing either, expecially if you consider the 3 times I've suffocated myself trying to "escape" by hiding deeper and deeper into the covers.
Anyways, sorry about the long post, I was bored and decided to throw in a few extra details XD

Like Chaos said, it has something to do with a persons self-conscious nature. I'm alot like that too. If I'm laying in my bed asleep, 99.9% of the time I'm going to have a blanket of some type over me. If I'm asleep on the couch, then I'm usually turned over on my stomach asleep (as a substitute for a blanket, I feel that I do it as it's more of a defensive position).
