I'm bored of hosting hexing competitions for now, so I decided to try something different. Yes, a Drawing competition instead =D
This is for all you budding artistes out there. Why not try and win a prize or two, and have something else to add to your deviantart?? PRIZESCLICK1st prize: A hex of any status from WARLOCK, customised 2nd prize: A hex of any status [excluding retired files] from WARLOCK, customised 3rd prize: A hex of available or limited status from WARLOCK, customised This competition's theme is WOLVES. Draw wolves or a wolf, in any position or way you choose. RULES-The drawing must be in a PENCIL medium; coloured pencil, tonal pencil, charcoal and graphite stick are all fine. Digital art, paint or chalks are not. -The picture must be your OWN work. I will be checking Deviantart or Google if I suspect anybody of cheating. -Try to stick to the theme! -All entries must be in by the 1st April. Any after that will be disregarded. -I will be judging on your use of the medium, your composition, and anatomy. -HAVE FUN. There's plenty of time. Art should be enjoyable. -If you are concerned about Art theft, a small watermark is permitted to go on your work. -Please draw this FOR the competition. Previous pieces are not allowed. -Name of piece: Zip-a-dee-doo-dah! -About this piece: Well, the weather today was absolutely lovely! And, as the song says, a zip-a-dee-doo-dah day is a day when you can't open your mouth without a song busting right out of it. I wanted to draw a wolf enjoying the beautiful weather like I did today. I don't claim to be a wolf expert and the anatomy is probably atrocious, but I had fun drawing this! -Email should you win something: blimey_cat@yahoo.com

NAME OF PIECE Spark
ABOUT Well, the wolf is pretty much standing on it's back legs and "begging" to food or something of the sort. Nothing special, to be honest. I know the quality of horrid and it's so plain but I have no idea how to do fur as detail so I decided against colouring it. It sucks, but I had fun. Except those arms killed me. EMAIL artemis[dot]sim [at] gmail.com
I'm not as good as half these people out here because my drawings are like sketchy, very messy and full of lines but I'll whip up something. Retraced it so that it'll be cleaner. But uhm, I used a reference which I bookmarked so if you want to see it, that's kewl =]

edit: bwahahahaha... -Name of piece: "I Am Wolf" -About this piece: I think this is the best thing I've drawn all week =D I used an HB Ticonderoga pencil for the outline, and I shaded it with a mechanical pencil (detailllll ). This was extremely fun to draw, and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Sorry if the watermark is a tad big, I figured it would be fine since it's not actually covering the wolf. Sorry for the bad image quality, had to use a digital camera :X By the way, if you're browsing deviantArt, and you find it on there submitted by 'kipchackdog', don't worry, that's just my account. -Email should you win something: kipchackstar@hotmail.com

ugghhh Dx i just finished my drawing book. the only good-quality one that I have. >.> but, I might be back. mum says she'll try and get me a nice book like the one I just filled up asap, so maybe I'll draw a wolf or something... and, by the way, are drawings of fursonas allowed? because I absolutely love drawing my fursona (uhm. don't worry... he's a wolf xP) because he has pretteh colours but, if not, i'll just draw some random wolf. xD EDIT;; fursonas allowed? or no? -Name of piece: bronze -About this piece: hm. well, i felt like drawing ana's fursona cos she's mah frrieeennddeh but i failed the first 28463274 times. so, i gave up. but then i saw this thread and i decided to try again. as you may know, ana's fursona is a maned wolf and... uhm... well, i honestly thought they were just, errr, furry wolvvesss. ^^;; but i looked them up a day or two ago and i absolutely loved them. i couldn't not draw one. xD -Email should you win something: deviltigercatz@hotmail.com ahahah. i am soooo uncreative when it comes to names. xD and, before you give me crap about not colouring, it's coloured as much as bronze is meant to be. xD and yay for mothers - mine surprised me with a wonderful, good-quality drawing book yesterday. now i can draw stuff! xD

-Name of piece: MOTHERLY INSTINCT -About this piece: I've been practicing with "quick sketches" because I am a habitual detail artist. I chose a picture online and did a quick sketch (10 minute) of it with a pretty good result. I am not accustomed to drawing things quickly so considering that, i am pretty pleased with how well it turned out. -Email should you win something: gkcpetz@hotmail.com

Ohh, are we allowed to enter more than once? I didn't realize that reference pictures were allowed (I figured it was just a free-draw), I'll probably enter more than once if I can do a more detailed realism with a ref pic.
