So I have the "Asset Error" message whenever I try to open up my new Petz 5 game. This is on a brand new computer, but it says
"Asset =\Resource\translationkit.txt. This may be caused by low memory or lack of hard disk space."
My computer is an Acer, Windows 10. It has no place to insert disks (like that would help anyways) and I don't even have a lot of stuff on it, besides a few files. I followed every step I think to make it work. I installed Dogz 5, moved it into documents, got PetzA, and only use "Run as Administrator." I downloaded both from Sherlock Software. What am I doing wrong, and is this fixable?

Usually that error means corrupt file somewhere.

Hm, so I made a system check to search for any corrupted files and it said windows found nothing.
EDIT: And the problem still exists.

As far as I know, it won't find the corrupted files. I get that message sometimes when I play and it means a petz file is corrupted.
Since I'm guessing you don't have any petz yet in the game, I'm not sure what is hitting it.
Can you try reinstalling it into documents, not just moving it there?

Sometimes I get an error message if I accidentally put Petz 4 files (toyz, clothes etc.) in P5 and visa versa. Have you added any new custom content lately?

Nope, I'm only going to play the vanilla game. As I said, I never even played it on this computer before.
How do I "install it into documents?" I downloaded it twice before and had to move it to documents because my PC won't let me chose where it goes when downloading.

Then I'm not sure there, because I've always been able to choose where to install my games.

Hm. It might just be that issue. I'll download Chrome and see if that does anything, because I'm currently stuck with Microsoft Edge

I am having this problem as well. I have Windows 10 and I tried installing Petz 4 to My Documents but it won't let me select that file path, which is This PC\Documents\PF Magic\Petz 4. It says I need to install it on a drive like C Drive. I tried putting it here: C:\Users\Owner\Documents but that didn't put it in "My Documents" folder. How can I get it installed in My Documents?

jillym2 I don’t have windows 10 so I’m not exactly qualified to help on this particular issue, however I had a thought. Maybe you could try making a custom folder directly on the C drive to then install your game into it. I have windows 7 and did this with all of my petz games and haven’t encountered issues from it, although someone once said they advise not doing that but I don’t recall a reason for it. But I figure it might be a workaround for you?

The "My Documents" folder on Windows 10 is just called "Documents" so you are fine to install it to C:\Users\Owner\Documents.
