Ahahaha this thread had made me laugh so hard. I was hoping tho for a list of words maybe that I could use to experiment T.T
Anyway, I'm thinking of streaming my results some time but I definitely got my cat to grab a ball (or maybe he just wanted to grab a ball? there were other toys there too tho?). And there is this "practice" tool that lets me see what words I'm saying so I can tell that I'm saying something.

Hey Thor!! Finally got a chance to experiment myself for about ten minutes and this is what I noticed with Erin. She was NOT looking at the shell before I said shell. The Practice tool suggested Shell to me and recognized me saying it so I took her to the beach, waited a minute and said it and she went right over to it. Not Pictured: She was holding a ball, I said "Let go" and she dropped it. Also Not Pictured: I tried to say ball like bawl and it recognized bowl and then ball. Idk...

You know I'm not sure; Erin is a really responsive Dali to begin with and I'm not sure how the game woild tell me that she understood me but the fact that the practice screen recognized her name made me super happy??? ;;

I wonder how it knows what the names are...if it has a name list it goes by (and how big that is) or something. EDIT: But then again, it can't have JUST a list...for them to recognize it, wouldn't someone have had to say the name or somehow program it into the game for it to be recognizable by voice? I'm sure I'm just being stupid and don't know how these things work, but that kind of fascinates me xDD
I know it wouldn't be able to figure out my randomly generated names!! xD

I'd imagine it's similar programming.

Have you ever turned on "closed captions" on Youtube? That's Youtube voice recognizing and putting words to the screen. Basically when you name your pet, that name gets added to the "list of commands your pet knows". In fact, when I remove Apollo from my Adopted Petz folder, the game doesn't seem to recognize that word as a command anymore. But if Apollo in my Adopted Petz folder, but in the red door, the word is still recognized.

Actually CatCreature, I'd be curious to see if it recognized really weird names. I'm sure the program does the best it can, but I kind of wonder....

^ You should try using a name generator and get something weird to see what happens! Maybe something pronouncable, then something absolutely insane. xDD I usually use this one and just hit the generate button. (For this experiment, it'll work fine to leave it at Default xD) Just using that, I found these... 'Kulor' probably sounds like 'coo-lore' Then there's madness like 'Oughoughe' and 'Sulchaustrisust' x'DDDDD

i'm kinda tempted to see if i can get this to work, though i also don't want my mom to hear me yelling at my computer in a british accent...
is there no way to get it to recognize american accents? it seems like a pretty big oversight to NOT let it do that

Im almost sure an American based one is out there. That being said I only tried to say Ball in UK cause Thor said about that word being hard but it recognozed my american accent plenty fine otherwise from what I could tell!
