Am I able to apply to become a moderator as technically, I first joined back in 2008 was it? Can't remember when exactly, but I had been a member for over 60 days on that account. Or am I not able to because THIS account hasn't been active for 60 days? Just wanted to ask before I apply and get a slapped wrist

Do you mean that you created a new account after a long period of inactivity on an old abandoned, but still existing account? Or did you delete your old account to create this new one, while being active the whole time?
But to clarify the rules, you must be an active member -- not just have been. We have to be able to see that you're around and active on a regular basis, otherwise we can only speculate as to whether you would make a good and active mod.

I made an account a couple of years ago, deleted it last year but last month I posted something as a guest, asking if it was ok to rejoin because I wasn't sure if I could after deleting my old account. After you clarified everything for me, I rejoined and now I'm able to give RKC and Petz more of my attention, so I was thinking of applying to become a mod. I will wait until I've been around on this account a little longer and other members get to know me etc. I was only asking simply because again, I wasn't sure. fizgog

I'm fairly certain we don't need new moderators--and probably won't for a good while--but I just figured I'd slap this up here for future reference.
1. Why would you like to become a moderator on this board? I've been in the RKC on and off since 2007, having been kicked sometime in 2008 for being underage at the time. From day 1, I loved this place. The people I've met here in the Petz Community have shaped me for life, as odd as that may sound! I've met so many friends and lovely people here and I'd love to give back to the forum in exchange for all it's done for me. I've modded before, but really my number one priority is being an active, friendly member here. Modding work would just be something I do on top of this in order to keep RKC a friendly, smooth-running community. I try to be as helpful as I possibly can when I happen to have some sort of knowledge in the area and I'm generally easy to talk to and friendly to anyone who is friendly to me in return. All in all, it'd just be my way to give back to the community: keeping RKC running the way it should.
2. How often do you usually visit the Petz Forum? Oh goodness, honestly, the amount of time I spend online here is embarrassing; it really proves just how little of a social life I really have haha! I'm online for most of the afternoon during the school week, Mon-Thurs, which basically means roughly three and a half-four hours from the time I get home from school. Then I usually take an hour or two break for dinner and homework and such. After that, I'm usually on again for another hour or two. On Fridays, I'm on for a bit longer than this. Maybe by an hour or two. Possibly three.
On the weekends, Sat-Sun, I'm even more active (generally speaking). I don't usually go out, but let's assume that I was going to go out on, say, Saturday. I'd be on for a good part of the morning and early afternoon--roughly four to five hours--then go out for a few hours. Then I'll be online again late afternoon/night for about 3 more hours, assuming I stayed out for the maximum amount of time I usually would. Typically, this doesn't happen and I'm at home for most of, if not the entire, day. In which case, I'm online nearly constantly, periodically refreshing RKC to see if there's anything new posted. In other words... I'm on here a lot.
3. How much time (per day/week) do you think you can devote to modding the board? Well, considering I'm online for that amount of time a day, I'd say a lot of time! Especially with summer months, where I have absolutely no school (June-August). I'd say that if there's something that needs to be done... I'll just do it? Haha, I'm already online so why would I leave it for later? :) So, having said that, at least an hour or two could easily be devoted to mod duties.
4. How old are you? I'm fifteen years old [birthday is September 20, 1996].

I'd like to become a moderator just to change the ridiculous signature size limit. Do some research and see what other boards have. Unfortunately, that is one of the governing reasons why people don't remain on boards very long. It's quite surprising, really, how many people love making signatures and showing off their art. Removing the sig and pm'ing the person is a lot less rude than making it public knowledge "THIS PERSON IS STUPID FOR NOT READING OUR RULES, NOW THEY MUST BE STONED TO DEATH". I ran a proboards forum for quite some time, and my sig limit rule was very reasonable, with an example: As the Administrator, no one could have a sig bigger than mine. My signature was this: Which is much smaller than some forums' maximum size. Just give it some thought.

^ Yeahhh, highly doubt that attitude is going to make you a moderator. Check the member count and then ask yourself; is the signature limit affecting the forum traffic? Over 3,000 members... Mmm, doubt it.

Mmm, doubt it. Uhm, yeah, seriously. ROFL. I'm pretty sure most of the members here don't really give that much of a crap about the sig limit. Not enough to leave the forum over it.

^ Yeah. Some people have some seriously gorgeous signatures, anyway. Not me obviously, but that's because I can't be bothered most of the time to have more than links/quotes. I had a lovely banner a few months ago. It's not hard to fit a good deal into 50 pixels.

Cute. If you have a problem, please feel free to go elsewhere for your petz fix. The rule is in place in order to keep loading times on the forum to a minimum so that you aren't waiting to read posts. And moderators do not get to change rules that drastically. In the future, please feel free to PM one of the moderators directly; we tend not to respond positively to passive-aggresiveness, but we are willing to listen if you have reasonable complaints or suggestions.

So, I've been thinking about this for a long time, and I'll put it here in case:) Application: 1. Why would you like to become a moderator on this board? Well, I've been a part of the PC off and in since 2006 and the RKC petz forum has been the place I knew I could count on. It's part of my oldest and favorite memories of hobbies, and it's not something that comes and goes in my life anymore lol.ive made great friends here and love this community so much I love to do as much as I can to help whenever I can. Running community events and answering questions are my favorite things to do and I enjoy tasks and organization:) I appreciate all the things that RKC and Ratqueen have done to keep this place alive and well and lasting for years and years to come! I guess I love this forum and community and would love to help and be a bigger part of it. I truly appreciate how much apart of me this community has become, and I want to see it succeed and continue as much as possible! 2. How often do you usually visit the Petz Forum? Well, I carry my phone and check on things whenever I have a spare minute, and longer times in the evening. So...all the time haha. I'm afraid to add it up and admit because my husband is always teasing me about my love for the 'petz thing' haha. 3. How much time (per day/week) do you think you can devote to modding the board? As much time as it takes to do it well:) but I'm easily reached within a few hours usually and don't take days off lol and I can easily answer PMs and such quickly and make extra time if necessary because my schedule is VERY flexible right now in this stage of my life. 4. How old are you? 22! And never planning on growing up haha

I've thought about applying to become a mod here quite a few times - ever since I was about 13 and a part of the forum. This forum has always been my favorite to participate in, and I've found it to be more active than any other places I've been a part of. I love how long it's been around, and active and I love to keep that going, so I figured I'd finally fill out one of these applications. :]
1. Why would you like to become a moderator on this board?
I really enjoy taking part in the petz community, and keeping it around/active is definitely something that I'd enjoy taking part with. I am online a lot, especially when I get a really big "petz bug" and while being active, I do come across petz boards/threads/posts where I catch things that need to be locked or rules that are broken and need to be be addressed. I would love to be able to help with those threads when I come across them, and help keep the forum clean. This is my favorite petz forum that I've ever taken a part in, and I would love to be able to help out in that way. A few times, when I have spotted big signatures, or something a member had missed in the rules, I have PMed them gently, and I feel that I would be able to communicate effectively with people while making them aware of the rules, and being kind to them at the same time. I love people - especially the friendly members that you find around the petz community.
2. How often do you usually visit the Petz Forum?
During the summer, I'm online hours at a time, almost daily. There are times that I miss a few days or so due to work and being busy/etc, but I'm definitely online 5 days a week at the minimum. During the school year, that typically changes. My freshman year of college was especially "interesting" to say the least. I lost some family I was close to and had to adjust to a new environment, and I should have given myself more outlets to relax and do things that I normally would rather than focusing on only school 24/7 and making myself crazy missing my usual outlets. Coming on petz would be a really nice way to relax and escape the realities of real life, especially if I'm able to help other members and visit the forum. During the school year, it would be less frequent that I'm online, but I would still be sure to make time, and during the holidays I'll definitely have loads of time.
3. How much time (per day/week) do you think you can devote to modding the board?
During the summer, hours a day, I'll be online almost every day. During the school year, I could count on 1-2 times a week minimum to check up on things, maybe more depending on how time consuming my classes are each term. But if I was a mod, I know it would be a responsibility to come online and I would definitely make a point to checking up and cleaning up the forum.
4. How old are you?
19, my birthday is 12/28/1993 I have a feeling I'll be around the petz community for a long time - especially because I don't see myself having any real animals for a while after loosing my dog and mom doesn't seem like she wants another one. It will probably be another few years 'til I have my own place, and until then my virtual petz and the community and the animal shelter I volunteer at will have to be my outlet :]
Thanks for reading my application, and I hope you consider me if you ever look around for some new mods again!

1. Why would you like to become a moderator on this board?
Being a mod would let me help players, and to make this forum perfect. Sure, deleting posts can sometimes get boring if you're doing it for hours on end, but it would help me see new parts of the Petz community that I've never explored before. I know giving players warnings might sound harsh, and I might not want to do it, but it's one of the responsibilities I'd have to follow up with. Just because someone is my friend doesn't mean I should be any easier on them. I try to be as unbiased as possible in arguments and in places like forums so I can see both user's sides of a story. It's not fair to only listen to one you think is right, and not let the other speak up. But sometimes you also need to have qualities to help sympathize with users. I think I can help bring qualities like this into our forum to make it a better place for users to be having fun in c:
2. How often do you usually visit the Petz Forum?
Daily. I am absolutely addicted to this forum. I just can't stop getting on, I love it so much! I've always dreamed of being a mod here, especially once I saw the justice involved. You help make forums great, and that's what I'd like to do. Sure, at the time of posting this, I only have around 200 posts, but that doesn't mean I can't be a great mod. It's your heart, not your outer shell, that makes you a great person. I really would love to be a mod here on RKC. Not at all just to get the title, but to be able to help players in need and make this forum great. It would mean a bunch to me to be a mod here. It could be the greatest thing to happen to me, and I'd be so happy. c:
3. How much time (per day/week) do you think you can devote to modding the board?
Currently around four hours a day, but once school starts up at least an hour or two per day. I won't be able to get on for over four hours like I have been doing recently, as I'll need time to do homework and such. But I will definitely have enough time to get on and root through posts to see if anyone is breaking any rules or if a post needs deleted. It's a responsibility you have to keep, just like caring for a pet. c:
4. How old are you?
I am 14 1/2 right now, which is old enough to get a job where I live. If I ever do get selected, this would help me get ready for the responsibilities I'll have when I do get my first official job in the future to help me earn money for college. I really think this can teach me many life skills I'd need, such as responsibility, respect, courteousness, and cooperation. This would really be a benefit for both the forum (getting a new mod) and me (learning life skills) at the same time. ^^
Thanks for letting me apply, even if I'm not selected ever to become a mod. I'll still love this forum just as much. <3

Application:
1. Why would you like to become a moderator on this board? I would like to become a moderator because I love to keep websites organized and I love helping people. It bugs me when I see forum posts that haven't been deleted on other websites that haven't been active in awhile. I feel that the petz forum should be a safe community so I'd take appropriate action towards others who are breaking the rules. Petz has always had a special place is my heart. It has been a game I have been playing since I was 7 years old. I have a lot of experience and I could give people the advice and help they need. Many people on this forum have taught me a lot and I hope I can do the same for others.
2. How often do you usually visit the Petz Forum? I visit the petz forum many times a day. During school for 2 hours and during the summer I can be on the computer for hours at a time.
3. How much time (per day/week) do you think you can devote to modding the board? I can be on the petz forum every day. If needed I can come on for more than 2 hours.
4. How old are you? 15 (January 14,1998

Hi! It's me. I've been thinking and while I would love to be a moderator, there's just one thing I need to clear up before I apply! I did cause a small bit of trouble for about a month in 2010, since I was young and dumb and belieeeeeve me do I regret it. However my reputation's a good one now (iirc, my karma was at about +15 before the feature was removed) and I was wondering if it would be alright for me to apply! I'm not expecting you to allow me to, but I figured I'd take a chance. Thanks!

... and I was wondering if it would be alright for me to apply! I'm not expecting you to allow me to, but I figured I'd take a chance. We take a lot of different things into account when deciding who to pick as a moderator so, yes, you can apply if you like. We wouldn't hold against you something that happened years ago if you've been a troublefree member since.
