I played petz a lot as a kid but never showed. Now, I'm mostly breeding the Sunhill persians, VPZ persians, and chinchilla persian mixes. I have a few questions! Thanks everyone . 1. Is there a specific way I'm supposed to pose the cobby cats like persians? Or are all catz breeds posed the same? 2. What is PKC? I see people mention that their cats are PKC accepted but I'm not sure what that means. 3. Can only purebreds be shown? Let's say I breed a Sunhill persian with one of my chinchilla persians, can I the kitten? Or can I only show purebred Sunhills? 4. Can hexes be shown?

1. They're all basically posed the same, each breed/personality group has their own eyelids but it's the same basic idea.
3. No, unless it's a show that specifically says that. Ex: My Gotham Samoyeds are a selective breed, so they have so many breeds in them, they're not purebred.
4. Unless the show says otherwise, yes. Usually the rule is as long as it looks like a dog or cat, it's fine.

I recently started showing on forums myself. There's really helpful read here: petzforum.proboards.com/thread/62900/dogz-posing-judging-guidepetzforum.proboards.com/thread/62878/catz-posing-judging-guideI read both of these guides before showing my first petz and at first I was awful but then I got better. I also asked for a lot of help on Discord and FB chat (cause I was really shy about asking help on the forums, BUT everyone here is really nice :3). Short: don't be afraid to post photos and ask~ PKC is another forum/website for showing petz. I recently joined there myself, but I haven't entered in any shows yet. I won't be much help on answering questions on PKC, BUT, they have a really easy to follow "newbie instructions" post. I just finished doing that and am about to try to enter a show that was recommended to me being the easiest to join.

Yes, definitely refer to pose guides, and browse through old judged shows to get a feel for the basics. When in doubt, post your pose pics here on this board and ask. After all, that's what it's for, pose help and critique. Showing may seem a bit overwhelming at first, especially trying to figure out alignment, and all the little quirks for different breeds, but it gets easier once you start participating.
The PKC is basically the Petz version of a RL kennel club. Like in a kennel club, you register your pets, and then you can enter them in PKC shows. When you register a pet, it will be accepted either as an A-reg or a P-reg. There is a list of accepted breeds, breed files, and standards for those breeds that a pet must meet in order to be an A-reg. Only A-reg pets may participate in confirmation and premiere shows. If a pet doesn't meet the breed standard, it gets a P-reg, and can participate in obedience/aptitude and companion shows. The PKC is another place to show our pets, which is always welcome.
