UPDATESJuly 9, 2017 Today was a great day for the show petz here! Azeze, Arre, and Madison all passed their first round of the Good Petz Citizen Scheme @ PKC, so they've all earned the GPC title. Brach, Clare, and Grille also won HMCP placements. Danika leveled up to SGCh today, earning her 30th point with a BIS placement @ WW. Grille got another BIS, and new show cat Cardiff got a BIS placement in his first show! Yayyy shows!!! July 8, 2017 Whew! Did some updates with the show cards in the first post; made the posts for Madison & Clare. I have more petz within striking distance of SGCh than I realized so I am going to start putting them in heavy rotation :3 Also Azeze won her NCP title at PKC, and is now working on the intermediate level. July 6, 2017 So almost four months since I made an "official" update here, but I have been showing in the meantime. I have placements in dozens of shows to add. Since I updated in March, Rattlesnake is home to at least 2 new SGChs., Madison and Clare. Unfortunately it seems like shows have cooled here in the last couple months, and I know I had my part to play in that but it is sad March 19, 2017 Been a while since I updated in here! I've still been showing my petz and tracking their points but I haven't been updating like usual. So I had a pretty big backlog of ribbons to log, so I've decided not to link to all the shows where they won their ribbons... Anyway we have a new SGCh--Madison! She took the show world by storm racking up an impressive amounts of BIS. <3 I'm also trying to figure out the best way to organize this place still... I think each SGCh is going to get their own post once they make the title. March 5th, 2017 Brach entered the show ring last night, and in the first judged show that's come back, he got BIS, earning his first title. So proud of him! <3 March 4th, 2017 Arre got her SGCh title!! I have yet to make a celebratory graphic for her because I'm kind of tired right now but it will be forthcoming! I'm so proud of her. She's so good <3 Brita and Marita also moved up in titles, Jonquil won a couple points, and Galene is on the board as well. March 3rd, 2017 Arre got another BIS and picked up 3rd place in a show as well, putting her just ONE POINT away from her SGCh title! Brita picked up her GCh title today and Marita placed 3rd as well, one point away from her Ch title. March 2, 2017 Azeze earned her Supreme Grand Champion title today, placing 1st in a show here at RKC. She killed it in the show arena, twice winning BIS and four times winning 1st place. I think I'm going to retire her from forum shows (although maybe I'll reprise her eventually), but she's just getting started over at PKC. (She failed her first Petz Citizen Scheme by the way... but I failed my first driving test, so you know what Azeze, it's totally cool that your eyes were wide and you were scared of the toys <3) Arre also won first place today, earning her MGCh title! Also trying to figure out how I want to set up my show page now that I have a "retired" pet. Will be looking over others' showrooms to see how they manage this... March 1, 2017 Been pretty busy the last couple days but having lots of fun showing I just updated the points my kitties have won over the last few days. Azeze is now at 27 points, just one good show (or a few bad ones!) away from her SGCh title! They grow up so fast :') Jonquil is on the board, and with a title, having won 1st place in her first show and picking up an HM as well. The results of the first two shows I entered over at PKC are in too, with Azeze winning RCP in one show, and Arre winning HMCP in two shows. Proud of them! I'm going to figure out how to integrate their awards over there with my showroom here... Feb. 27, 2017 All my kitties have titles! :3 Except for Albus. :\ I guess I should just enter him in more shows :3 Feb. 26, 2017 Azeze won another BIS, this one from Whiskerwick, and Brita got a 2nd place, bringing them both up to 14 points--just shy of their Grand Champion titles. Go kitties go! Azeze, Arre, and Marita also had their registrations approved at PKC today, so we'll see how that goes. Feb. 25, 2017 Brita placed in a couple more shows, and I added Chalcon to the page since picked up a few points too and got her Champion title! Hope it's okay that I'm adding points I won at Whiskerwick too! New to the showroom: Marita won some points today, coming in 1st place in an EBW. Feb. 23, 2017 Arre just placed third in her first show! I have linked all the ribbons to go to the respective shows they were won in. ...Aaand Arre just won BIS!! Kind of exciting A first place for Azeze <3 Only 1 point away from her Champion title! Feb. 22, 2017 Azeze just placed in her first show, and she did it in a big way by getting BIS! I am so proud of her. These are the first show points I've ever won. Yayyy Albus also took third place in a Calico show today! I think I'm hooked on showing :3

Azeze is the second cat I ever entered into a show, and the first to place--with BIS! What a thrill. ;D I was pretty much hooked on showing after that! Azeze first placed on February 22, 2017, and got her SGCh title on March 2nd, a show career lasting only 9 days and including two BIS placements and four 1st place awards. But she's just getting started! Now she's headed over to the PKC, where she's already earned RCP in one of her first companion shows. Having had a couple kittens early in life (in fact, fellow show cat Chalcon is one of these kittens!), Azeze is glad to be focusing on her show career for now, but she still looks forward to having a new beau one day--preferably a snazzy show cat himself! She enjoys toys a whole lot, with the green shoe being one of her absolute faves (she also loves the plane and the leprechaun). She likes to hang out in the backyard, where she can sit in the tree and watch for mice.Status: Showing in PKC shows; retired from forum shows

ArreThis baby was pretty much born hissing. The intermittent outpouring of hate is somewhat amusing, and I made it my profile picture on Whiskerwick. I also love her gorgeous bright green eyes and her puffy tail. She didn't like the idea of showing at first, but after I tricked her into posing, it turned out she had a knack for it and became more cooperative.
She began her show career on February 22, 2017, and earned her SGCh title on March 3rd. She's actually a sweetheart but she works hard to hide it. Arre is not interested in having children at the moment because she's loving the show circuit--but maybe once she has retired from the PKC I can talk her into it... ;D Hissing remains one of her favorite pastimes.

Uh oh! I tried to have reigning SGCh. Arre welcome newly minted SGCh. Madison into the fold... but it did not go very smoothly!
Right off the bat Arre doesn't want to cooperate. Madison tries to prove her worthiness but Arre is feeling some acute distress. "No, you were doing it wrong, this is how it's done." -Arre Arre just doesn't think it's FAIR. Madison is getting upset herself now. And...oh no. Oh dear. This was not the welcome I had in mind. After delivering a dressing down to them, both are chastened. And agree to appear publicly together. Welcome to the stable. Congratulations Madison, you earned it!

MadisonMadison was adopted from Miss Ann Thrope , I believe as part of her Maine Coon breeding service, although I don't remember now if she came from a litter I requested or if I poached her from someone else's. Either way I got lucky! She's named for Madison, WI, a place I used to visit as a kid and have fond memories of. Her show name also references Madison, which has a number of lakes; Lake Monona is one of the them.
She took the show ring by storm. Indeed, I didn't even have time to make a "show card" for her (you'll notice hers below unfortunately looks somewhat sparse!) because she racked up points so quickly once I started entering her. I attribute it to her beautiful front legs. She made SGCh in just eight shows, starting March 5th and earning her title in eleven days.

Clare was born to two of my catz in early 2007, so she was already over 10 years old when she started showing. Let's give her a hand for being willing to try something new! I was really proud of her when she was born. At that time I still didn't have PetzA installed and on one side she went back in "my" lines several generations. I loved how simple she was--an alley with a calico coat and a poof tail. She had quite a few kittens before she started her career, and she was mostly monogamous with another alley mix, Bachman. She's one of my petz that I've played with the most and I was tickled to see she has a pretty good pose on her as well! I began showing her on March 16 and she was in the show ring for about a month. Unfortunately I dropped the ball with her show card as well as with Madison's--it was a hectic time for me. Her show name comes, of course, from a beautiful piece of music, which is how I think Clare's little heart must sound on the inside. She is, after all, so full of emotion. Of all my show catz so far, she holds the most BIS awards. Now that she has her SGCh title, she's really trying to get Bachman in on it. But although she may look fearsome, she is really a sweetie and will stand by her man regardless. The show ring also gave Clare a new friend, SGCh. Madison; when the two met, they hit it off immediately and now they love to play! Status: Showing in PKC shows; retired from forum shows

I adopted Danika from 🌠 Aubrey in 2015. I loved her classic, simple, clean look, and how her pretty blue eyes matched her pretty blue undercoat. She is such a sweet cat. <3 I had her for a couple years as just a companion cat and I'm sure I bred her a few times as well. When I was looking through my catz to see who was good at posing, Danika stood out, and she would pose so easily with so little coaxing. Made for the show ring! I began showing her on March 23; in her first show, a standard, she placed 2nd and I was really pleased because often I don't place at all in standard shows. She wrapped up her show career with a BIS; it wasn't until July, but that is much more my fault than hers. I had to cut back my petz for a while. Now she's happily titled and moving on to the PKC. Although he wasn't my first male cat to be shown or to place in a show, he is the first to reach such a high level, probably due to his great pose. He's a pretty low key cat, would rather nap than play with toys. Maybe he's just tired from working on his career--he's already placed in a show on the PKC and it's just his first round! He's definitely looking forward to siring some litters with another SGCh or two. Status: Showing in PKC shows; retired from forum shows

I finally have a male SGCh so I can breed my show kitties now yayyy! For adoption here. Here's the kitten I kept from the litter, Jimson: I haven't 100% settled on a show name for him yet, but it probably be something relating to his call name, such as Devil's Snare or Frantic Condition.

We have a new SGCh at Rattlesnake! Unfortunately he was a little nervous during his ceremonial crowning and meet-and-greet with reigning SGCh Brach... Brach was very supportive. "Best just to get it out of your system..." And...oh, there it is... But now with Chalcon feeling better, he can act out his rise to the top while sneaking up on Brach and his title. A hearty welcome to Chalcon! Congratulations!

Brita was, like Azeze and Chalcon, part of a non-inbreeding project (she shares one first-gen ancestor with Azeze and Chalcon!). She's only a fifth generation and I guess some people might see her as plain but I prefer to think of her as elegant. I think she's a great addition my Maine Coon crew (: I began showing Brita in February of 2017, but I hamstrung her with a bad pose. It was totally my fault and not hers, but it did hinder in shows. Eventually I got her a picture more worthy of her fine quality, and she pulled some BIS and first places in her last shows, quickly sailing to her SGCh title. And in fact, of all my catz, she has the most show points! Her nap above is well deserved! Status: Showing in PKC shows; retired from forum shows
