I don't mind getting them/not getting them, but I don't normally send them. It's not that I don't appreciate the pet, is just that when I'm on the computer, I'm normally doing 20 things at one time, and sometimes talking to a bunch of people. Sometimes even supposed to be working. It's not just petz that I'm horrible at replying to, it's emails/PMs in general. Just gonna leave this here...

I don't really mind whether I get one or not either. I think it is nice to have confirmation that they received the pet, but I don't expect to get one. I sometimes send a thanks and sometimes I don't. I've actually always wondered myself if people like to get 'thank you' emails. I had thought they could possibly be more of a nuisance than anything haha

I like a reply but I don't expect it. I don't mind seeing it by a topic reply either. It's good to know your pet has been accepted on the other end instead of lost.

I don't mind either way about receiving one, but I do always send one for petz adopted out to me. It's not only so that they know I've received it, but it also lets me know that I've downloaded it. Sometimes I'm rather forgetful about these sorts of things, especially if I get the email while I'm at work or something.

I generally don't do this, and I never expect it from anyone else, I never recall receiving/sending them in the past either? >_< I should be better about it since I know people lose emails sometimes.

Personally, I don't have a preference. However, I will acknowledge a safe arrival in some form or another. Post to the thread, gratitude after receiving custom, showing the pet(z) off in pictures. If I don't email right away, it's usually because I've either fallen asleep, or not at my computer to check. My email on my phone likes to tell me I have images, not files. Would I like to get one? I don't really care, really. If I see the adopted pet in pictures, fantastic - that is my confirmation. If not, I worry they were not well liked and will probably remain in a folder or they never made it to their destination and the recipient either forgot or didn't care enough to tell me they didn't get it. I'm odd that way, I suppose.

I never expect people to send me back replies when I send them a pet or something though for the most part people do and it certainly makes me feel better. I always worry about things getting lost in the virtual post. When I'm on the receiving end of something I always send a reply because I just feel like it's the polite thing to do and a quick "Hey thanks I got the file" doesn't take that much time out of my day.

When I have an adoption thread up with 8+ petz up for adoption, I don't expect everyone to reply with a thank you. My e-mail would forever be spammed with thank you notes, because I so often do adoption threadsxD haha.
When I receive a special pet though (hexed or bred) I make sure to thank the hexer/ breeder properly!=) either by replying to the e-mail in which the .pet file is attached or through private message. I think it's just common courtesy.
For example...when I received my tiger Indivar from Kimberly I made sure to thank her a million timesxD haha. I also felt obligated to show him off properly and to enjoy him to the fullest, because I did realize how tough the competition was then and how many people had to be disappointed. Still adore him, obviously^^ and can't belive it's already been 2,5 years since they were put up for adoption!

Honestly, I don't usually send thank yous. It completely depends on how I feel, what I'm doing, how talkative I am. Because sometimes I just don't want to talk to anyone or type anything lmao. Most of the time, I add the pet to my game, but open it later or on my next day off (which is when I actually play more). Sometimes I get to it, sometimes I don't. I never thought anyone really waited around expecting replies. If everyone replied to my send outs, I would be drowning in even more emails.
I never expect a reply. Unless I specifically say something in the email that deserves a reply, like asking them a question or something along those lines. Most of the time I just put "Enjoy!" in the email anyway, because who has time to write a paragraph with every send out? maybe I'm just exceptionally lazy when it comes to send outs and replies! Otherwise I honestly couldn't care less about getting a reply. If I get one, cool, if not, cool. I do expect to be notified if a pet is not received though, whether by PM or on the post itself.

I haven't sent or received others' pets yet, but I would appreciate a thank-you and expect the sender would as well. Not only does it let the breeder know that you received the file, but that you appreciate their hard work and aren't just using them as a doormat.
I'm a bit more anxious than other people, but as an artist I get pretty worried when I don't receive a thank-you for paid commissions. It leaves me wondering if they weren't satisfied with the piece, if I accidentally left something out, etc.

When I was active, I didn't expect thank yous. They were nice, but on busy days they weren't much help. that being said, If I receive an adoption via email, I still try to thank the sender. Mainly because these days it's on account of me just being happy to talk to the Petz community again and hopefully by adding such small interactions, it helps overall longevity. Now that I'm back, I want to see more activity site wise. I'm glad there are forums like these still going strong, but I kinda miss the network of sites. Those were fun days.

I don't really care either way, though it -is- one less email for everyone to deal with :P

I don't expect it but I do appreciate a quick reply just so I know that it made it as quite a few times they get gobbled up by spam filters or misspelled emails addys. I send out received replies when I've adopted something for the same reason, plus I think it's polite. Totally what I was going to post.
