So I somehow got bit by the hexing bug and this popped into my head, so I made it. This is my first ever serious hex so I’m sure there is a ton of things that could be done to improve it. The overall idea here is that the toes are the water deep underground, the dark brown is the wet dirt, the lighter brown is drier dirt, and the flower is pretty self explanatory. I also plan on doing maybe different kinds of flowers too if I get time. The first set of pictures is from my first day of hexing it and the second set are from today. I also added some random pictures and kitten pictures as well. I’m not sure if I’ll keep the water (toes) and grass (tail) textures or not. If anyone has ideas on how to make this better feel free to share. Just keep in mind that I’m a noobie and a tutorial link/detailed explanation would be best to help me. If there’s any interest, I’d definitely pop some up on PUGS and maybe a full color custom or two. I’d also possibly do a raffle here. Anyway I am extremely happy with how it turned out so far. Still trying to think of a name too, but without further ado, here is my first hexie!

Oh wow, this is awesome! I love the concept, and it's all very well executed--the dark/light brown "dappling" is really beautiful, and of course the FLOWER is awesome. I like the textures you've used as well. My only suggestion is to maybe make the "petals" slightly bigger so there's no visible gap between them as there is now and again there? It's probably not even necessary but it might be something to try. I love how grumpy it looks in some of the shots. Sour Flower. Heehee.

woah... he's so cool! he's very different and unique, I love it <3 and I like the details you added like the orange inside his ears and his flower tail :3 and the patches/spots on his legs in the second set of pictures is like the cherry on the cake!

Thanks for the input guys! ^_^ I went ahead and made the petals bigger, and I think it looks better already. They're also all the same size now as they weren't before.

sorry for posting again but I just thought of something you could add that would make it better.. what if you made some of the fur on his back and the top of his head green so it looks like grass, its up to you but I think that it would go with the rest of the theme

Looks fantastic, and I also like Wild's idea. Trying to think of a name for it, too. Flower Garden Catz? Flowerpots? Eh.

Post as much as you'd like! That's a great suggestion, I'll try it out when I get a chance.
I was originally calling them a Flower Pot Shorthair haha generic I know. They also aren't very flower pot-ish though. I do like what you said in your first post though, Sour Flowers. That fits the theme and personality well.

Heh I was actually gonna suggest "Sour Flower" as an actual name but wasn't sure if it was actually good, or if I was enjoying my own joke too much. I . . . do that. Haha.

Ooh, I just love these. Maybe you could do ones with different types of flowers? But I would definitely want to grab one if you put some on PUGS. Lovely idea overall though ^_^. I also think that maybe some more green or some leaves somewhere could look nice. Maybe leafy ears? I also really like Wild's idea with the grass. As for names, maybe Floral cat? I do like the Flower Pot cat name as well though.

Finally got around to adding the grass on the head, ears, back, and butt. I textured the spots the same as the flower stem. I haven't decided if I'm going to change the ears or not yet, but I think this is a good stopping point for the night.

This is so cool, what a fantastic concept! The flower is adorable and I love the added grass on top. May I suggest adding a few speckles of blue to his main paw ball, so his blue toes and brown legs merge together? But this is just awesome as is. Great idea!

Added the blue speckles to help with blending, thanks for the suggestion!
