Note; you must have some basic hexing skills for this and you also must know how to change the offset + breedname. ;D

Thank you so much Sleepycat!! I'll try it as soon as I'm done making changes in my new Spotted Wildcat breed (I posted screenshots in the Petz Talk forum if you want to check it out ;D ) Your welcome I saw your wildcat and voted earlier and replyed a few mins ago if your gonna try the base swapping then you may want to check your Lnz size now with the RB file, RBs are smaller at around 14,195(adult) with the kitten Lnz around 1,075 The Maine Coon adult Lnz is around 15666 and kitten is around 948

so this tutorial is for making a desert lynx act like a russian blue? I'm confused!! what would the outcome be? Yes, following the steps in this example, that's exactly what it would do You can use any breed as your base, so that any other breed can have the personality you choose.

What is "base breed?"

The breed you start hexing with. Like the base breed for Mac (in my avatar) is a tabby.

can anyone else explain this? since the image seems to be corrupted, as the host site no longer exists.

I think it's kind of similar to converting from P5 to P4, except you paste the LNZ of the pet you want to change the base breed of in the file of a pet from another breed instead.
Just a guess though!

if that's what this tutorial was supposed to be then i don't want it. lol. i want the pet to breed the same way, so i want to keep all of its genetic info the same, i just want it to have a cali personality instead of oshie.

I think you may have to mess around with hex codes for that, I think. Not sure.

Just a guess though! That's how I've always done it because it's the most 'full-proof' way of doing it. But! There was a tutorial on how to do this to a pet file but it was still in-testing and kind of iffy. It wasn't really swapping base breeds, more like.. adding personalities to the pet. And it isn't fullproof, it's kind of like how mixies exhibit bits and pieces of various personalities except it's somewhere between breedfile and pet editing. And that sentence made no sense, haha. EDIT: If it's the offset and breedname then it would've been a tutorial on swapping breedfile offsets/SCPs (because that's entirely possible and done often in the PKC to give the base breed a different personality) but it wouldn't have been for .pet files.
