A while back, I hexed my wolf-dane file. I think I only released maybe one, and then it just kind of sat. I've seen a few wolf files around, and it gave me the urge to fix up my file and create some cool wolf-like coat patterns, etc. I really want to try a lot of different things with the markings, so I'll probably end up giving quite a few out, which I'm perfectly ok with. I considered putting the base or file up for DL, but I decided against it, and instead, I'll just make them really 'available' and ultimately not be very picky with adopting some out. (Except for a few which I'll make really special. :3 ) ================================ (What I changed from my origanal wolf file): - Bigger Body in the scales / sizes - Modified the nose a little bit - Changed & modified the ears - then made them bigger - Added on to the "Body extention" in LNZ - Edited their cheeks a bit - Removed a couple outlines, add some new ones with some of the addballs/body mods - Increased the tail size / fluffiness - Made the chest & body ballz a bit larger ================================ Before I go crazy with the coat variations, though, I wanted to get some feedback & critique on the base, because I'd hate to go through all the trouble of hexing oodles of variations, only to decide I want to edit the base some more. Any suggestions on how to improve it? Personally, I really really really love it. I don't hex 'big' things very often... usualy, cute small things. haha. So this is something a little bit different for me. ================================ Wolves are really starting to grow on me! I've read the book "The Sight" a long time ago, and at the time I was completely addicted to it. (That's where my favorite dog Larka's name came from: one of the book characters)... and while I never got to reading the sequal, I think I'm going to get into those books, and start getting into wolves a little bit. Because they're so pretty, and I've had a lot of fun looking through pictures of them. I've been inspired & want to hex a bunch of them now. heh.

The only things I can think of is make the body a bit longer and remove the outlines on the legs. And maybe add claws.
I do have to say that is a super cute file so far.

I increased the body extention from 16 to 25 in the adult, and about 6 to 16 in the puppy. It's really not that big of a noticable change, so I may have to change/move the actual ballz to make him longer, rather than to use the body extension. Will that mess up it's movement if I spread them out that way? I'm hesitant to do so, and I'll save a backup of the file, first.. but.. idk. I think it's ok this way? :3 I definately think it's an improvement in the puppy, not sure about the adult form yet. I'll have to play with it, and see what I think. What do you guys think? Improvement, yes / no? I'll try adding claws right now, too, not sure if I want them or not, though. I'm still deciding between super petzy or adding a little bit more realism to it. (Usually I'm always hexing with 100% petzy feel in mind, but I want to try something different with these, so I'll give it a try) I do want to keep the outlines, thoug, because I usually don't care for outline-less or blendly outlines in petz unless it works with their colors, and I plan on editing colors and things like that later. :3 So their leg outlines will definately be staying for now, unless one of the hexies in their file fits better with blendy/outlineless ballz, etc. EDIT -I'm actually pretty happy with the base, and I decided to hex a dog real quick, just to see the file with some color & paintballs, etc. I was curious, and I've been hopelessly wanting to hex off of this base because the dog in the first pose has been a lot of fun to play with, etc. So I bring to youu.. Sabar! :3 He's just a simple black wolf, and doesn't have the wolf markings I'll be hexing onto this later, but I thought I'd show him off anyhow. :3

I think the file is really cute! The only thing I'd change though is the tail looks lumpy? Maybe smooth it out a bit?

I think the file is really cute! The only thing I'd change though is the tail looks lumpy? Maybe smooth it out a bit? I thought about this too. I'm not sure, though, because most of the time, it does look smooth. But some of the times, it does little bit lumpy (when the dog is in pose, etc). And I had the tail really smoothed out, then just added the thickness little by little until I liked how it looks. I thought it looked lumpy some of the time, though. So I'll have to try and go back and look / edit it some more. Thanks, Mo! :3

Alright, guys. :3 So here's what I did: - Made the eyes smaller
- Smoothed out the tail
- Body is longer, legs are shorter
- Make it all the same texture because the part plush/part hair10 was driving me mad, heh. x3
- "Fuzzed" up some of the body, changing a lot of the ballz to fuzz 2. Some, like the tail have more like fuzz 4 or so
I can't really think of anything else that I changed worth mentioning.... but I definately think it looks a ton better! ^^ I honestly think the tail looks miles better, and I'm definately glad that I took all of your advice to change it! I tried (and failed) at doing the claws again. I'm terrible with tiny addballz. But I think I'm just going to go without because it keeps it a little bit more petzy without them? :3 Some of the pix are for the 'lol' factor. hah. The others are to show the body. Her name is princess, so she gets to wear a crown xD Anything else for the body before I move onto colors/markings?

For some reason, the little eye triangles look really weird to me. They look very large and I don't know if they're just long or not but have you tried shortening them? Or like, not stretching them so far away from the eye but instead a bit closer to it? You don't have to do this, I'm just wondering what it would look like.
Also, maybe try shortening the noseshine? The nose looks really wide and noseshines never look good stretched all the way across it but rather stop a little bit from the edge.

I changed them. Moving the ballz closer to the eye helped, but not completely, so I made the ballz connected to the lines a little smaller, and that seemed to make a world's difference. Thanks, Artemis! -exalts- Edit - Alright. so here are a couple more 'body' shots. I'm seriously in love with it! I think I'm going to hex the markings on now unless anyone else has something they want to add / think needs fixing?

I would say the nose should be smaller but on this file, it doesn't look that bad so I think it's good Whoo, can't wait to see some markings, haha.

ASLDFJDALKDFA.... o___o So, I'm kinda on cloud 9 right now. I just hexed this done/ markings off of the file, and I'm kinda spazzing, and it's really sad... xD But I can't help it! I'm having so much fun with this file! So I think this looks really awesome, but I did circle 2 spots I'll have to fix. With the body extention, the line shows up a lil more than I'd like, so I'll just trim that down a little bit and lower. Or maybe I'll just do that for the ones I adopt out, because it's not noticable and it doesn't bother ME, I'm just thinking about other people who may not like it. It doesn't show up in all the pictures, either, because it's only noticable part of the time. But gee wizz I'm totally loving these colors and markings, and I'm just soo... happy right now xD Any suggestions / comments are appriciated. :3 Thanks for the comments so far, guys! <3 n___n edit - Oh, and I looked off this picture while hexing her. :3 www.billybear4kids.com/animal/whose-toes/wolf/WolfStanding.jpg
