^ Linkin Park aren't "rock", they're Nu Metal. :3
I don't generally like rap, just because I don't like that genre. xDD It's mainly the chav-rap stuff I don't like, though. Some rap I can stand, some I can't.
I <3 pretty much everything else, though.

Black/death/doom metal for me, typically stuff from 90s and before. A few of my favorites are Gehenna, Death, Celtic Frost (kudos for Coroner, Ratqueen), Grave, Darkthrone, Tsjuder, Vulture Lord, Electric Wizard, etcetcetc

I'm with Loxie on this one, my ipod is strrange. xD On the whole, I listen to Rock/Metal/Darkwave kinda stuff.. but If I like a song, I like a song no matter the genre! Right now my playlist has: Johnny Cash, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Brad Paisley, Bach, Eminem, Usher, Creed, Marilyn Manson, Jason Mraz, Christina Aguliera, Susan Boyle, loads of 80's/90's dance music.. etc.. xD So.. it just depends on the song.. though to date NO gospel music I like. :[
For me, my music needs to reflect my mood... and every genre to me, has a mood I most associate with it. <3

I guess I like alot of different styles of music too. I must say though, I prefer RnB and hip-hop. I cannot stand heavy metal rock bands though. They give me a headache!

Alternative hands down! I'm really close minded when it comes to music. I refuse to listen to anything that's overplayed and not alternative pretty much. I dislike rap/hip hop and I dislike country and the Disney Channel people x3232532. I do like the 80s... some days haha. But under alternative, I'll listen to screamo, as well as some post hardcore stuff. But it's more varying alternative. Oh yeah, and you would never catch me dead listening to that song Boys Like Girls made with Taylor Swift that makes them sound like country singers, or that song We The Kings made with Demi Lovato. I'm ashamed that such good bands made music with people like that. I mean if you like it... you like it. But We The Kings and Boys Like Girls do not need to gain publicity from Disney stars IMO! ahhghg okay all done =] That's what I do and don't listen to.

For me, I really just listen to whatever song I hear and like. I've got everything from heavy metal to country to pop to RnB to Christian rock. :3 If the song has a good beat and catchy lyrics, I'll buy it, no matter the genre. And popularity doesn't really matter much to me either; I think its silly when people ~refuse~ to listen to a song, just because its super popular atm. I mean, if its popular, then there's a reason for it, and I'll listen to it just because its a good song. ^^;

I rarely like music that has a big hype around it because it generally isn't that great anyway. Even though my main tastes consist of bands from the Indie, Britpop, Alternative genres, I appreciate individual songs rather than the band or artist. The 60's and the 90's were THEE best decades for music, I must say. I mostly listen to music by The Monkees, Placebo (I shall replace the swear word with something sounding like it... I DUCKING LOVE THEM! They are my favourite band!), Neil Diamond, Status Quo, Robyn, Michael Jackson, Alanis Morissette and Tegan and Sara. From before I was born, Neil Diamond's music was drummed into my brain because my mum is a huge fan lol. From there it went to Status Quo when I was about 4 and my uncle bought my brother a video with loads of Quo music videos on that I'd listen to as well. My brother started listening to Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Suede, Stone Roses, great bands from the 90's as we grew up, but he'd also listen to The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Who, The Kinks and The Jam/Paul Weller so I was heavily influenced by really good music since I was born

I'm a music junkie, I pretty much listen to whatever happens to appeal to me. Generally, country doesn't do it for me, but I'll find the occasional song I can stand.
To name some favorite bands/singers/whatever in particular...
* Marilyn Manson * Nine Inch Nails * Maximum The Hormone * The Airborne Toxic Event * An Cafe * Tommy Heavenly/February6 * Blood on the Dance Floor * Green Day * Linkin Park * Vocaloids * KHR & APH & YYH Character Songs * Beck * Jack's Mannequin * Mindless Self Indulgence...
and plenty more, lol...

I like all kinds of music. I have like some pop, some good rap, a billy joel song. I just have to like the song. I like almost anything. I don't like country but yet I like some songs. Just depends on the song.

Kpop, Jpop, and Christian are mostly all I ever listen to! In fact, that's all that is on my itouch. *_*;
Kpop - Big Bang, Dee.Bee.Es.Kay, Sung Si Kyung, FT. Island, ect... Jpop - Otsuka Ai, Ito Yuna, WaT, Lead, w-inds., ect... Christian - Hillsong United, Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, ect...
I also do listen to other things like country, rap, rock, ect... I'm pretty much open-minded when it comes to music. =)

Punk/Emo music FTW! I <3 Green Day! Green Day's not "emo". :/ They're classed as Alternative Rock. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HQIcdGg63I^ I love Hollywood Undead. Though it has some mild swears, lol.
